01 ico-D events An ico-D Regional Meeting was held for the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries on 05-06 February 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, coinciding with the beginning of the term of President Zachary Haris Ong of Malaysia. The meeting was hosted by ico-D Member Graphic Designers Association of Malaysia (wREGA). Read the recap		02 Icographic Issue 5 is all about the book—a tribute to UNESCO's designation of 1972 as International Book Year. For this occasion, Icograda was approached by UNESCO for guidance on the logo design and Belgian designer Michel Olyff was chosen to develop a pictogram suitable to represent the theme. The final article is a captivating visual cataloge of pictograms researched by Olyff for this process. Read or download your copy
03 ico-D feature interview In this feature Interview Hongik University Professor and former ico-D President Don Ryun Chang provides insights into his involvement as Chair of the Design Advisory for the recently completed PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Korea. The design programme was considered a great successf by experts and spectators for its unique multidisciplinary approach. This year's theme, Kids can too! offers a Designing for kids guide created for professionals who care about responsible design and designing better for children, and the worskhop Start Young, which helps kids explore their creative potential and learn about design methodology. 06 New Member story Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) is a platform for production, education and research in Beijing (China). Home to the renowned Ethnic Costume Museum and the Zhongguancun Innovation Park for the Fashion Design Industry, BIFT offers high-caliber faculty, teaching faciliites and design programmes for students, forging links between traditional and new technologies. Read story	07 New Member story Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) was founded in 1930 as the Society of Industrial Artists (SIA) in London (UK) by an influential group of designers whose vision was to establish design as a ‘recognised profession’. From the outset their mission was to promote the highest standards of professional design practice and to foster the study of design across all design disciplines. After 85 years, the Society achieved its goal in 2015 with the granting of powers from the sovereign to set up and maintain the Register of Chartered Designers. Read story	08 Partner news As mandated by the Montréal Design Declaration, the three international Founding Partners have reconstituted the Design Summit Meeting Steering Committee. The new Steering Committee is now composed of six members: BEDA, Cumulus, ico-D, IFLA, IFHP, and IxDA. Find out more

Frank conceived of, and realised the Register of Chartered Designers, and brings with him a unique experience and expertise in Accreditation/Certification and professional design practice applications.
