Not a membership category, the "Corresponding Entity" status was introduced in the Bylaw changes of 2013 as a way to offer support to design communities in regions just beginning to organise themselves through the creation of professional associations. |

06ico-D Eventsico-D Montréal Platform Meeting 'Design is Global' took place in Montréal (Canada) on 13–14 October 2017 along with the ico-D 27 General Assembly. The events were held in conjunction with the The World Design Summit. The format of the Meeting included Member forums and presentations, providing an opportunity for exchange between Members from the educational, professional and promotional sectors. This report summarises the talks and informal discussions that took place.

07FeatureThe 2018 ico-D events in Beijing will be hosted by Central Academy of Fine Arts China (CAFA). CAFA School of Design is a leader in contemporary design, playing an important role in the promotion of design culture in China. Creators of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and hosts to the Future UnKnown Global Education Plan conference in 2017, CAFA's approach to design education stands out for its innovative approach to traditional culture and for training students to balance between hard skills and critical thinking. ico-D looks forward to being hosted by CAFA in 2018 as the school celebrates its 100-year anniversary.

09Montréal Design DeclarationThe Declaration is now available in Portuguese thanks to our colleagues at Universidade Positivo. The document was translated on 28 March 2018, by the Visual Design Course, Design and Sustainability discipline. Universidade Positive is in Curitiba (Brazil) a UNESCO City of Design since 2014. The translation of the Declaration was mentored by Rosângela Souza Araújo and translated and diagrammed by Luiza Moreira de Paula and Denise Duck. |
